Parks and Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department infrastructure consists of 3 Community Centres, Parks, Playground Equipment, Tennis Courts and 2 Beach fronts. The Department is very active in Culture and Recreation Programming. For example, the Department runs the North Kawartha Soccer Club, Skating Club and the Annual Swim Program at Chandos and Quarry Bay Beach.
Not stopping there, the Department is also responsible for many special activities that include dinner theatres, musical performances, etc.
The Department boasts a very modest staff compliment of 2 full-time, 3 part-time and 2 summer swim instructor students to accomplish the above.
Culture
The Township of North Kawartha has two public libraries. The main branch is located in Apsley with a smaller branch in Woodview. Free high speed public internet access is available at both locations.
Various Art Studios and Historic Sites are located throughout the municipality.
