Award Announcement

The Township of North Kawartha is very proud to announce that the North Kawartha Community Centre was one of ten facilities selected internationally, for a 2013 Athletic Business Facility of Merit Award.  Congratulations to the Community, Architect and Township Council and Staff.  This is quite an achievement.  For more information, please visit the Athletic Business website.

Parks and Recreation

North Kawartha has 3 community centres, an arena, fitness centre, parks, playground equipment, tennis courts and 2 beach fronts. We are very active in culture and recreation programming. We run the North Kawartha youth sports, skating club, men's hockey, fitness programs and the swim program at Chandos Beach and Quarry Bay Beach.

We are also responsible for many special activities that include dinner theatres, musical performances, and work closely with other groups to ensure the success of their events.

We have a very modest staff complement of 4 full-time, 3 part-time and 5 seasonal students to accomplish the above.

Culture

The Township of North Kawartha has two public libraries. The main branch is located in Apsley with a small branch in Woodview. Free high-speed public internet access is available at both locations.

Various Art Studios and Historic Sites are located throughout the municipality.

There is always lots to see and do in North Kawartha. Beyond this page, you will find additional information and listings on the following pages:   AttractionsFestivals and Celebrations, What's Going On and in the North Kawartha Directory.
