Notice of an Open House and Public Meeting for a Proposed Amendment to the Township's Comprehensive Zoning By-Law #26-2013 to Regulate Expansion and Enlargement within the Water Yard

Draft By-law

The Council of the Corporation of the Township of North Kawartha will be holding an informal public open house and a public meeting of Council for the purpose of obtaining public comments with respect to the regulation of expansion and enlargement of dwellings and recreational dwellings within the water yard.

Date and Location of Public Open House and Public Meeting

Date: Saturday, October 7, 2017

Public Open House: 9:30 a.m.

Location: Wilson Park Community Centre, 66 Northey's Bay Road, Woodview, ON

Lands Affected

The proposed amendment would apply to all waterfront properties in the Township of North Kawartha.

Purpose and Effect

The purpose of the proposed zoning by-law amendment is to establish updated as-of-right permissions to enlarge or expand a recreational dwelling within 100 feet of the high water mark. A draft amendment outlining options for Council's consideration is available for download from the Township's website at http://www.northkawartha.on.ca/en/council/resources/09-05-Council-Package/09-12-Council-agenda/ByLawZALateral-Expansion.pdf and available for viewing at the Municipal Office, 280 Burleigh Street, Apsley (Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

 

Public Comments and Contact Information

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of North Kawartha before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township of North Kawartha to the Ontario Municipal Board.

If a person or a public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of North Kawartha before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
